InmVietmNam,msincem2009,mthemTourismmInformationmTechnologymCentrem(under
themVietmNammNationalmAdministrationmofmTourism)mapproachedmandmstartedmresearch-
ingmonmtourismmsatellitemaccountmandmhasmmademamlotmofmworkminmpreparationmformthe
applicationmofmTourismmSatellitemAccountminmVietmNam,mwhichmwasminmaccordancemwith
recommendationmofmthemWorldmTourismmOrganisationm(UNWTO).
Nowadays,mVietnamesemGovernmentmhasmidentifiedmtourismmasmamkeymeconomic
sectormofmthemcountry,mwhichmrequiresmthemapplicationmofmtourismmsatellitemaccountmin
VietmNamminmordermtomdefinemexactlymeconomicmcontributionmofmtourism.mThismwould
providem policy-makersm am scientificm platformm tom determinem them developmentm
orientationmformtourismmsector.
ImplementedmbymthemTourismmInformationmTechnologymCentreminmcoordination
withmprofessionalmassociates,mVietmNammTourismmSatellitemAccountmReportm2013m-m2015m
introducesmthemsignificantmrolemofmtourismmsatellitemaccount,mitsmlinkagemwithmSystem
ofmNationalmAccountsm(SNA),mthemapplicationminmVietmNam,mandmparticularlymthemresults
ofmsomemtourismmsatellitemaccountmtables.
